of a bookworm, a rationalist, and a leftist. Even a cursory glance at history amply demonstrates that the good things most of us have in this world are due to the coming together of groups of people who work democratically for change -- groups like the National Organization For Women, or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or most unions -- and the results of this are such silly little trifles as antidiscrimination laws, worker safety regulations, the 40-hour work week, the minimum wage, pitiful as it is, and many others...."
