FTP Instructions - Transferring Files to your Account

To load files to your web page you need an FTP client. The one supplied for you in the Seattle Central Computer Lab is called WS_FTP.
  1. From windows choose Programs -> Network Programs -> WS_FTP.

  2. In the field labeled Hostname/Address: enter "edison.seattlecentral.org".

  3. In the field labeled User ID: enter your logon, all letters must be in lowercase.

  4. In the field labeled Password: enter your password. This password is the last 6 digits of your Student ID Number.

  5. Click the button labeled ok to connect.

This will set up an FTP connection to the web server, please note, you are automatically "in" your own public_html directory. The files in the left window in WS_FTP is reside your local machine and the files in right window reside in your web account directoyr on the webserver. Use the arrow buttons to transfer files back and forth.
